2008 Subaru Impreza goes on sale in Japan with new 2.0L flat-four turbo
Vishal | Jun 6 2007

Subaru has just launched its 2008 Impreza in Japan, which comes equipped with a turbocharged 2.0L engine that generates an incredible 250hp. The little rally car has undergone a major change with its engine and now the car will body a 2.0L flat-four turbo that produces 250 horsepower which is 25hp more as compared to the 2.5L flat-four turbo engine offered in Impreza S-GT model.

The company has said no word upon the strategy of offering different engines f or different market. The one reason that is very clear after offering WRX’s older, less powerful 2.5L motor in U.S market is the something to do with emissions and the added cost of making the 2.0L engine meet U.S. standards. still possible the WRX will be sold with the new engine in the U.S. and our patience will pay off one day.
