3D speed bumps to fool Philadelphia drivers
Mayuri Majumdar | Jun 14 2008

What does it need to have an accident-free city? If your answer is any of the following - careful drivers, vigilant traffic officers, good roads, cautious pedestrians, etcetera- then I am more than happy to prove you wrong. The answer is- 3D Bump Images. The Philadelphia Government seems to have taken their responsibility with great seriousness. In its attempt to make the drivers more careful, it has endeavored to fix high tech 3D intersections on the roads. These images give out a 3D look quite easily. The trick is to fool the driver to slow down. One might mistake them to be actual intersections on the road. Well, the idea works absolutely fine for sometime. But, don’t we all know that man is subjected to habits. Once his mind is regulated with these 3D images, I doubt how much ‘fooled’ he will be. Well, if that happens, the government might invent some other fool-proof method yet again. Hats off to the brain which carved this idea.

This may be a good idea. It really may slow down drivers....But Autopartswarehouse.com may disagree, because if the drivers know that the bumps are fake, what is to prevent them from speeding?
