Circles replacing edges! TFT display fits into instrument panel

Toshiba Matsushita Display Technology Co., Ltd. has come up with a new circular design liquid crystal display which intends to change the shape of the traditional display technology. The new product is intended for automotive applications.

This product comes with a newly developed crystal display and a 75mm outer diameter in circular shape that includes the driving circuit. It is based on TMD’s Proprietary low temperature poly screen technology.

The compact design can work wonders in a cramped space; a normal feature in the automobiles. It can easily fit in the instrument panels and it will be a great contribution for the styling and deign of the instrument panel.

With its significantly small size, a viewing display area of 62mm and a thickness of 11 mm it can get inside a typical speedometer or tachometer gauge. This TFT can display around 260,000 colors.

This gadget will be making an appearance at Yokohama exhibition from 24th of October and surely will attract automakers from around the world.
