If you have a wonderful car and still you want to see people getting jealous at you then, of course you need the most stylish window to peep through it. Don’t worry the arrangements were made by the PPG Industries. PPG Industries presented the Design Challenge awards, at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show, to three promising automobile designers. the concept was all about understanding the versatility of glass and to organize it in the best stylish way. The designers were asked to design a car with a unique window, by taking inspiration from golf, bamboo, charcoal and catamarans.
The winner of the trophy is Ludwin O. Cruz, got an amount of $1,500 scholarship prize. In his creation he made a combination of glass, carbon nano-tube wire and solar panels. It was an asymmetrical car, half of which was made of glass. The most attractive side is the driver-side glass that has got a dimpled surface utilizing the solar panels in order to power the four-wheel motors the electronics gadgets that are used for the interiors of the car. The next thing that made it the winner, is the glass top covering both the roof and windows. There were glass panels at the bottom of every door to make the driver see through it.
Woo Sung Lee won the second place with an amount of $1,000 scholarship. It was a car with honeycomb-shape glass for strength with the air filtration facility. This honeycomb-shape glass was also utilized to cover the sides and front of the car. It too had got a large, arch-shaped windshield leads into narrowing side windows, making it one of its kind.
The third place was owned by Andrew Ho with an amount of a $500 scholarship. His creation was a four-door crossover car that facilitate with a roof of electrochromic glass that gives the car an elongated stylish look. The wonderful thing about this car is that the passengers are capable of controlling the sunlight entering the cabin. Added to this is an aquatic effect made by a digital image of water pool. Andrew Ho fashioned the use of Glass by integrating it to the wheel rims. This innovation gave the car the aerodynamic upshots along with lights for every turn and brake that the driver takes.
These are the concepts and you can imagine how tremendous the rush will be to grab one of these masterpieces.
