HSV Encore concept is a power-packed ride for 2020

The HSV Encore concept is about impressive power and performance, and tackles the issue of emissions without going overboard. Dated for 2020, the concept gets power from a powerful 6.0-l V8, the monstrous engine, however, does not mean that the concept has no regard for its emissions, in fact, it tackles this with a very ingenious approach.

While moving at lower speeds, or where less power is required, a cylinder shutdown function switches off four cylinders, thus using only four and reducing fuel consumption. As the requirement for more power arises, all cylinders fire up to deliver the might of the V8. The Encore gets more environmentally friendly by carrying two fuels, hydrogen and Ethanol E85. The driver is free to select the choice of fuel, depending upon preference and need.

Designer Edwin Conan sees the car being entirely produced from carbon fiber, thus allowing it to be light weight and safe. The concept will have split suicide doors and a practical interior to fit in with the everyday commute.

[Thanks, Edwin]
