Its Testing Time for the Cybercar
Parul | Sep 27 2007

Daventry, a town in Northamptonshire, nowadays has ‘driverless’ cars moving on its streets! The town is experimenting with the Cybercar concept in a bid to give boost to public transportation.

The car is controlled by a computer and uses lasers to keep away from obstacles. Cybercar can be summoned by pressing a button on the route, and they leave directly for their destination.

The demonstration will continue until October 5, and is taking place in Daventry because of its involvement in European Commission research group CityMobil.

Cybercars are best for short trips at low speed in an urban environment. They can be very useful in town centers and tourist areas where vehicle access is limited.
