Martin Jetpack on eBay, awaits the first test pilot
Harshpaul | Sep 19 2009

In a very interesting move, Martin Jetpack has put its Jetpack on eBay. They’re not selling the Jetpack, but the winner of the auction will get a chance to be the first test pilot outside the development team, and as they put it, “a part of aviation history.” The bid starts at $30,000 and though there aren’t any bids yet, there are still almost six days left for the auction, and we guess there will be people interested in the offer. Interestingly, the item specifics label it as “Weirdness: Totally Bizarre.”

The winner of the auction will have six flight sessions over three days, and will be signed off as Martin Jetpack test pilot, with his or her name entered in company records for “historical recognition.” The winner may choose to bring along three other people, or just keep all the flight time to himself/herself.
