Mitac Japan has unveiled its Mio C523 V2 Portable Navigation Device (PND) for motorcycle riders. It comes with a 2GB flash memory, a 4.3 inch touch panel LCD and a 1seg digital TV receiver. To make the product biker friendly, the screen shows indicators for turns and intersections using arrows on a single screen. This has been done to ensure that the driver’s eyes don’t stay off from the road for a long time.
Mio will have Windows CE operating system running on Samsung’s “2440” processor, the GPS module has been sourced from SiRF Technology Holdings. The device will be on sale April 15 onwards, and will cost ¥44,800 ($448) to own.
