Mitka Trike: When you need a unique ride
Harshpaul | Oct 31 2008

Several Dutch corporations, Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research and the Delft University of Technology have come together to work on a project: The Mitka Trike; which is basically… a trike, with a battery, and not-that-crazy looks. With so many participants in the fray, one would expect something more than a battery powered trike, and that happens to be absolutely correct. A removable palm-top mounted on the dash provides performance data to the rider, a tilting mechanism makes for leaning corners like a bike, and then there’s the crown jewel which comes in the form of an adjustable height windscreen and retractable clear roof for the much in demand Frankenstein-on-wheels look. Moving on the battery pack alone, top speed up to 15mph and a maximum distance of 22miles is possible. If the rider decides to pitch in and pedal while the battery is running, the speed can go to 22mph.
