New Honda Jazz takes the floor
Ammaar | Aug 25 2008

Following the simply spectacular previous Jazz, Honda has now announced a much more airy and sedan-like all new Jazz. The car comes with two engine options, the 1.3L and 1.5L i-VTECs (the 1.5L getting 120hp), and with the weight just under 1100kg, it promises to surprise each time you floor it with performance and efficiency. To explain the “airiness”, Honda claims to have increased the room-space through the usage of a broader and longer wheelbase. The car is also much more refined and streamlined, due to aerodynamic improvements by introducing a more slanted windscreen, which stretches quite some distance to the roof, a compact tail, and much better body lines and cuts to reduce drag.

Inside, it features more of the adaptable seats which not only provide space, but also fantastic comfort. The instrument panel is one of the cleanest I’ve seen with everything within reach and a well-designed speedometer that features an LCD screen showing fuel consumption and driving range.

The 1.3L is priced at RM104,800 ($31,063) and the 1.5L at RM109,800 ($32,545). At first, I couldn’t think the first Jazz could be made better without sacrificing a lot from the previous, but Honda have yet again surprised me and most others. The new Jazz is certainly a stunner.

The engines seem to be very good with excellent fuel economy, but the car’s style is seems out dated. It just like another Enviro Car.

Well, it’s a Japanese car, and you know what you can do to the styling of those once you know where to go, after all ;).
