New Zealand man arrested for DUI - on a lawn mower
Harshpaul | Jan 21 2008

In a one of a kind incident, a 52-year old man was arrested in New Zealand on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol. Richard Gunn was riding on his lawn mower when police intercepted him; a quick breath alcohol test showed that the man was well over twice the legal limit.

Gunn is no greenhorn in such encounters with the police, the guy had lost his driving license a while back. He contends that he had been using the lawn mower to move around the city ever since he lost his license and at a 5mph speed the lawn mower isn’t exactly a threat to safety. The law however, thinks otherwise. Police have impounded the vehicle and Gunn will face charges in the court, if convicted, he may have to serve a term in the prison as well.
