Stylishly electric - The Dauphin
Mayuri Majumdar | Jun 14 2008

India has witnessed electric bikes for quite some time. It is yet to face the plethora of electric cars. Those are really lucky who own electric cars in an era where petrol prices shoot up every moment. This electric two-seater car Dauphin is something which will challenge every concept of design and machination. Dauphin is a French word, substituting for the English counterpart ‘Dolphin’.

An electric car, Dauphin just needs 6 hours of daily charging to run an average of 300 km. Well, if that was not enough, you have a steady internet enabled access with this one. It might look like a little tri-cycle, but trust me it will force the tri-cycle to hang its face in shame with the qualities it has. The highly advanced carbon-fiber and epoxy-resin materials gives it the high-class sheen and smooth finish. It has two magnetic motors and is perfectly noiseless. The electric motors embedded in each rear wheel allow it to reach to a speed of 150 km/hr. Well, this one surely is owner’s pride and neighbor’s envy. Ricardo Baiao surely deserves a pat on his back for creating such a masterpiece.

I like this 3 wheel electric car. So light weight and it means it can go fast.
