Unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show, Suzuki claims its Burgman Fuel Cell Scooter can have a range as high as 350km. This is basically achieved by storing more hydrogen, the Burgman’s hydrogen tank has a maximum working pressure of 70 MPa and can hold 10 liters of Hydrogen.

The fuel cell unit used is the air-cooled PEFC (polymer electrolyte fuel cell), which feeds a 500 Wh lithium ion battery, and also employs regenerative braking to maximize energy efficiency. The Burgman can run 350 km on a flat, paved road when it is moving at 30 kmph. Based on “Burgman 125” gasoline powered scooter that Suzuki produces in Spain, the fuel cell powered Burgman is said to have the equivalent performance of a scooter with 125cc gasoline engine.
