Taylor Knox is a popular name among the surfing enthusiasts, a figure always known to rise high amongst the waves and this time around the legendary surfer is making news again, once, not for his surfing antics.
The Rip Curls sponsored pro converted his diesel powered Ford F-250 truck into a commuter that runs on veggie oil. I mentioned Rip Curl sponsored for the very reason that the company supported Knox’s cause financially.
Indeed it was an entire crew at the Grease not Gas which worked with Knox. The team bed in requisite filters, pumps and a tank capable of holding 73 gallons of the magic fuel.
The conversion came easy considering the advantage it offers for the entire procedure cost a reasonable $3,700. Overwhelmed by the feat, Knox quipped:
It’s incredible. I’ve only had to fill up a few times since I had it done. I transfer all their [restaurants] unwanted grease into the tank, and I’m good to go. After all these years of driving, I can finally get behind the wheel knowing that I’m doing my part.
He hopes that this effort of his would become a phenomenon atleast within the people of his domain. It has to be these big names which should take lead in setting up an example for the community on the whole. Taylor Knox is one such individual, let see how many can he rope in.
