The Electric Shopper which got banned
Jaiyant Cavale | Sep 22 2008

The Beast: The Electric Shopper was constructed in 1957 in Long Beach, California. Designed for the elderly, it got banned due to the little safety and protection it offered. However, looks like someone wants to shop in the funny three-wheeler again. So we have a refurbished Electric Shopper on the roads again

The Machine: The Electric Shopper may run on electricity and has three wheels. It reminds me of the tuk-tuks in Bangkok and the Rickshaws of India. It would be a great vehicle to travel in on a hot muggy day, for you don’t need the AC and can just relax in the breeze.

The Thrill: It really must be quite thrilling to ride a three-wheeler with the handle steering. It would remind you of the classic 50’s when people traveled in strange looking vehicles and still were style conscious. This is one vehicle I wouldn’t want to ride when I’m old, especially if I have to go shopping on the Rodeo drive.

Will that actually fit in the narrow shopping lanes jampacked with shelves and people?

Strange little thing...

I think what they should do is to redesign this concept with more safety features and protection added.
