Toyota shows wheelchairs controlled by the power of thought
Harshpaul | Jun 30 2009

In a very interesting development, that may soon remove mobility barriers even for the severely disabled, Toyota displayed a wheelchair that could be controlled by thought. Developed at the BSI-Toyota collaboration center, the Brain-Machine interface works by analyzing the brainwaves using signal processing technology, and delivering neuro feedback to the driver.

It is much like EEG (electroencephalography), only, this one links the waves to mobility. The system boasts an accuracy of 95%, and analyzes the wave patterns every 125 milliseconds, thus providing a quick response time for the movement.
