Volkswagen reveals some more details of its 1.4L TSI engine

Volkswagen has recently released some more details of its all new 1.4L TSI engine that will replace the 1.6L FSI port injected engine in Golfs, Jettas, Tourans and Passats. The new engine promises a much better performance chart and has a good mileage. It gets a bump in power from 114hp to 121hp and a thirty percent bump in torque to 148 lb-ft at 1500rpm.

The new engine along with enhanced performance uses six percent less gas than the older engine and can perform good at lower engine rpm due to improved torque and taller gear ratios that further helps reducing the noise level.

One reason for I rate this engine very economical is that its small size will reduce owner’s registration fees without sacrificing performance as a lot of European countries calculate vehicle taxes based in part on engine size.
